This thesis explores how systemic inflammation and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) influence drug pharmacokinetics in critically ill patients. Key research questions include: How does inflammation alter midazolam metabolism in critically ill COVID-19 patients? What impact does CRRT have on the drug CL and efficacy of commonly administered drugs at the ICU? The findings aim to optimize therapeutic approaches in critically ill patients.
 

Aim is to investigate the occurence and prevention of anti-cancer treatment, particularly immune checkpoint inhibitors. 
 

We aim to explore the implementation and delivery process of interprofessional education focused on medication safety catered students of nursing, pharmacy and medicine across three European countries.
 

To determine the need for repeated booster vaccinations in healthy individuals and to aid policymakers in future public health interventions for COVID-19. Gain insight into the immunogenicity of the additional bivalent booster vaccination in a representative sample of the healthy Dutch population. We aim to investigate three main topics: 
i) immunogenicity of bivalent vaccines after priming with adenovirus- or mRNA-based vaccines, 
ii) immunological recall responses and reactivity with relevant variants after booster vaccination, and 
iii) the necessity of booster vaccinations for the healthy population in the future.
 

The aim of this project is to explore the 3D printing of peadiatric medicines. 3D printing technology enables the creation of medications with a wide range of dosages, shapes, flavors, and drug combinations, all customized to meet the unique needs of individual patients and specific disease conditions. Once the optimal formulations have been developed, the 3D printed medicines will undergo clinical trials for testing. 

The aim is to present current and new strategies university hospitals can undertake to contain costs of expensive drugs using a drug life cycle approach.
