Promotie onderzoek

The (positive) effects of antihypertensive drugs in the cardiovascular risk management are undoubted. However, like all drugs, antihypertensive drugs also have negative side-effects. Especially the elderly, are more susceptible for these adverse effects. It's not clear whether the benefits outweight the risks. So is it possible to deprescribe antihypertensive drugs and minimise risks for adverse events, while maintining blood-pressure levels in accordance with guidelines?  

• A prospective observational PK/PD to study the target attainment for β-lactam antibiotics in critical ill patients and its associated risk factors.
• A multi-centre, randomised controlled trial to assess the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of model-based TDM of beta-lactam and fluoroquinolone antibiotics.

1. Optimasation of the flucloxacillin absorptiontest.
2. PK modeeling of cefotaxim in critically ill patients.
3. PK modeling of flucloxacillin in mice.

Part 1: Optimizing ribavirin therapy in transplant recipients with a chronic hepatitis E virus infection by devoloping a NONMEM model for ribavirin. Part 2: Improving immunosuppressive therapy in liver transplant recipients by performing 2 RCT's in which different immunosuppresive strategies will be compared to modify the tacrolimus related toxicity in this population. Part 3: Evaluate the contribution of an outpatient medication service for liver transplant recipients.

Onderzoek in Spanje

Nieuwe oncologische geneesmiddelen worden over het algemeen geregistreerd op basis van onderzoek met surrogaat eindpunten, een kleine populatie en/of beperkte inclusiecriteria. Dit onderzoek richt zich op (nieuwe) methodes om effectiviteit en veiligheid van deze geneesmiddelen in de praktijk te evalueren.

Het onderzoek is gericht op het verbeteren van immuunsupressieve therapie bij niertransplantatiepatiënten met behulp van PK-PD modelling.
